At Volentia, we are dedicated to empowering the voices of those with limited English-language proficiency by offering low-barrier language services. Volentia provides low-cost language services in legal settings, aiming to bridge the communication gap between clients and legal professionals. By facilitating clear and accurate communication, we hope to enable lawyers to gain a better understanding of their client's circumstances, leading to more nuanced, compelling, and persuasive case representations.

Our team of students at the UBC Allard School of Law encompasses proficiency in six languages. Each team member possesses full professional linguistic proficiency. All students are required to pass a language exam and a Criminal Record Check, complete training in legal translation, and sign a Confidentiality Form as part of the onboarding process. Through Volentia’s low-cost language services, we strive to create an environment where language is no longer a barrier to justice.
